Im not a soulful house purest, but playing records alongside Cecil and Cali and has opened me up to the prodigious and complex offerings that flow under that banner. They introduced me to Ezel, Rocco and they convinced me that Karizma’s creativity warrants they hype. They also introduced me to Traxsource – the central pillar of a worldwide house community. This is a taste of the way I like my soulful house served up.
You might also notice how much of this playlist has roots in South Africa. For example, do you know who Sis ‘n Jones is? Check out this video and you’ll see that SA producers have been making house waves long before Mujava and Black Coffee came along and took the center of the world stage.
